Packing list for a European skiing holiday

Ski resorts often experience fluctuating weather patterns, including changes in temperature, snowfall, and wind so be sure to check the weather forecast and adjust your packing accordingly!

Clothing:

  • Thermal base layers (tops and bottoms) to wear under your ski gear
  • Ski jacket and pants or a snowsuit
  • Sweaters or fleece jackets for layering
  • Waterproof and insulated gloves or mittens
  • Warm socks (wool or synthetic) for skiing
  • Neck gaiter or scarf to protect your face from cold winds
  • Warm hat or beanie
  • Ski goggles to protect your eyes from snow glare
  • Sunglasses for sunny days
  • Ski helmet for safety on the slopes (unless you plan to rent it at the ski resort)
  • Comfortable and warm après-ski clothing (sweaters, pants, boots) for lounging and socialising in the evenings

  • Essential travel documents, such as your passport, visa (if applicable), travel insurance information, European health insurance card (if applicable) and any necessary identification
  • Cash and/or credit cards for expenses during your trip
  • Printed or digital maps of the ski resort and surrounding areas
  • Entertainment options for downtime (books, magazines, playing cards, etc.)
